Jack Nicholas dissected Rory McLaroy’s Masters performance, praising golfers to overcome the mistakes of the final round to win the green jacket.

The tickets of the state golf tournament have been punched.

With the wrapping regional tournament on Thursday evening, several Wichita Falls region golfers earned two strong rounds in the course this week, earning a state berth.

Here are local qualifiers for the state:

Class 4A boys – Jagger Nice, Graham

Class 2A Girls – Melei Marsh, Quana.

Class 2A boys – Linden Brown, Windthorest; Kaleb Johnson, Olny

Class a Girls – Crowwell (SEZ Beerden, Kyla Templeton, Kayden Carney, Jayley Rodriguez, Eva Diaz); Midway (Eddie Rice, Faith Vogel, Isli Stanley, Riley Lamar, Kara McDono); Sydney Consman, Throokmorten.

Class a Boys – Dene Sadler, Preary Valley

The results of six of the seven UIL areas including TRN sports coverage area teams are listed below.

Area II-A results were not made available, except that Crowwell Girls finished second as a team, leading to medal winning championships by qualifying for the state with SEZ Bairaden.

Area I-5A tournament

The top three teams and the top three medalists are not on the teams that proceed to the Class 5A state tournament at the Legacy Hill Country Club in Georgetown. Girls tournament is 28-29 April. The boys tournament is 5-6 May.
