It has also been confirmed that the final will be played at the MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey, with full game schedule released as an opener at the prestigious Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.

After the FIFA Council meeting before the 73rd FIFA Congress in Kigali, Rwanda, it was agreed that the number of sports for the 2026 World Cup would increase and the format would change from the previous format of 16 groups of three teams.

The top two teams of each group will pass, with eight best third -place team will also move forward in 32.
