Westlake already closed the title of area 3 with loan peaks in Thursday’s game, but it was still playing for a correct area record.
The correct record was in danger because Lone Peak ralled a late rally, but Westlake dropped it out 3–1 from 28–26, 25–13, 20–25 and 26–24 to win.
Westlake’s head coach Whitney Randel said, “We did not finish the season last year on the note we wanted.” “We spent a lot of time to talk about it and trained some specific things to train some specific things that we pull out of some of the intervals we saw last year. Therefore, coming in a difficult field is something we really proud and we are expecting to take that energy in state tournaments at the end of next week.”
Outside the gate, it seemed that there was a more polishing team of knights. The brady hold of the loan peak came out swinging with six forts in the first set and Westlake struggled to kill the block.
However, the knights shot themselves in the leg with five service errors, which Thunder took full advantage of. Loan Peak led 24–23 in the first set, but Westlake returned to a 28–26 win with a block in Micah Soresan.
Westlake’s energy was completely flipped into the second set, in which Kilika Tafa led to a boost to crime with backcroles attacks. TAFA helped open their comrades and thunder attack looked like a championship caliber crime. TAFA gave six murders in the set, as they dominated the Nights 25–13.
“We try to run four-humid crimes,” Randel said. “We have four men on each ball and it really helps to diversify it. It puts the blockers on their toes. These children (are) play together for a long time, some of them four or five years, so it is good to have that relationship with all the hits with all the hits.”

While Westlake greatly improved its execution in the second set, it stumbled again in the third. Defense of loan peaks did almost everything that is essential with strong blocks and digs behind the block.
Four in the third set and service errors for Thunder with a total of 17 in Thursday’s game started becoming a major problem.
Randel said, “One thing we have always emphasized in a way is that if we do hard service and we get them out of the system, then this is something we are targeting.” “So we are fine with some memories until they are good. We are always trying to do hard service and we will continue to try to serve more, but we are working on it.”
The knights maintained speed in the fourth set and took a initial lead. Once again the loan peak defense balls were kept in the air and became the star of the show and allowed her crime to rally, which took it a 23–20 lead.
Westlake wanted to avoid the fifth set at all costs and Tafa came to the rescue. After a thunder, TAFA recorded a 26–24 fourth set win and a ideal area 3 records in consecutive rallies, a block and another murder. TAFA led the thunder in the march with 20.
“We play better when we are loose in a way and I saw that we were just harsh,” Tafa said. “So, I just told the boys that they keep high energy and simply play loose and simply play it in the best form because we can actually all we can all.”
Westlake now changes his head in the state tournament next week. Thunder has learned from last year’s loss, where they were disturbed by the number 7 serrakuse in the quarter -finals, and are ensuring that they do not look much further.
“We can win, but this is not our attention,” Tafa said. “Our focus is to go on one at a time because you know the ultimate goal is to win, but we cannot go straight to the final goal without going through all the games. We are just trying to have a humble mind and just play one at a time and see what happens from there.”
