The 2008 Olympics Beach Volleyball gold medalist and Hall of Famer, Phil Dalhoser plans to retire after this season at the age of 45.
“I have decided that my 23rd season will be my last as a professional beach volleyball player,” Dalhausser was posted on social media“This is a ride of Narakuva, but as they say that all good things are over. I wanted to declare this in the hope of meeting fans who not only continue to support me, but also our beautiful game of beach volleyball. Thank you very much and I will see you on the last time!”
Dalhausser won gold in 2008 with his Olympic debut in Beijing with Partner Todd Rogers. The surname “Thin Beast”, 6-Foot-9 Dalhoser competed in three and Olympics-with one and Rogers, then two with Nick Lausena and retired from international sports after the Tokyo game.
He has continued to play on the domestic AVP tour and all professional programs have more than 100 titles.
Dalhausser began playing late indoor volleyball at High School, then played in the club team for Central Florida University. He initially manufactured in 2002 after graduating with a degree of Business Administration.
He launched AVP in 2003 (with Lucena), then worked with Rogers, who began in 2005.
He won the world title in 2007 and then became the third separate American men’s team to win gold in the first four Olympics beach tournaments in 2008. No American male team has won a medal since then.
Dalhausser and Rogers separated after the 2012 London game. Dalhausser then worked with Sean Rousanthal (2013–15) before joining her last two Olympics with Lasena again.
He was included in the International Beach Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2023.
Olympic gold medalist Elix Clinman plans to retire from volleyball after this AVP season.
