Amateur Hiroshi Tai will be the first Singapore to do this in Masters in Tai Augusta National (Andrew Redington).
Hiroshi Tai will make history as the first Singapore golfer to play at Masters this week, but 23 -year -old, Agusta can rely on a strong Georgia connection for his bid for low amateur honors in National.

Tai secured her place in the field for the first chief of the year about a year ago, when she won the NCAA Collegiate Championship representing Georgia Tech.
This is the Alma Mater of the US Golf Great and Augusta National co-founder Bobby Jones-and creates a link for today between the club and the Yellow jacket teams of the club and Georgia Tech.
But Tai said on Monday that the Drive Down Magnolia Lane felt “a little different” when he was arriving for the preparation of his first masters.
Tai said, “Apparently Georgia is in Tech and a lot of history with Bobby Jones is a lot of history and obviously he played in Georgia Tech, graduated from there.”

“So Georgia Tech has a lot of history and is associated with masters. It has really been a good experience.
“And taking the Magnolia lane down, not today, just any other day, will be amazing,” he said. “Surely it is enjoying it a lot.”
But Tai, who received his first taste of Major Championship Golf when the US Open was played in Pineharst last year, was also raised back home with strong support, and he is proud to be before his country to play the masters.
“I think it matters a lot to me because I am clearly proud of where I am from and there are many friends and families who live there,” he said.

“My parents still live there. It has been a very good experience so far, and I really enjoyed everything about it. I am really honored to live here.”
Born in a Singapore’s father and a Japanese mother in Hong Kong, Tai was introduced to Golf in Singapore when she was four years old and honored her game at Windermier Prep School in Florida.
While completing Singapore’s military service, he had to wait for his golf aspirations, but he said that his Georgia Tech experience has intensified his progress.
“I think playing college golf, especially at Division I level, you are playing with some best amateurs in the world,” he said.

“Many of them have been successful on PGA Tour events as amateur and college players, so I think you are really playing against some best players that you can find at that level, and it has really helped me develop as a player and over the last few years.”
