Witness 1: Israel Florez
The first witness called Monday was Israel Florez, who worked as a security officer at the Los Angeles Hotel, where Combes was seen on the video How to attack your then girlfriend In 2016.
Florez was an American Army reservoir for more than 15 years and now works in the Los Angeles Police Department.
He testified that he responded to a call about a woman in crisis in the hotel and found Combes and Ventura in the sixth floor hallway. He said that Combes were on a towel and socks, and Ventura was covered in a hoodie.
Florez said that Ventura appeared scared and wanted his bag and phone, and that Combes told him “you are not going to go.”
Comombs and Ventura continued to argue, eventually, left the hotel, Florez said. She said that she asked Ventura if she wanted to call the police, but she kept saying that she just wanted to leave.
Florez said that Combes threw a pile of money at him and said, “Don’t tell anyone,” but he did not take it.
He also said that he saw a third person in the room with him, and when he felt that he was being recorded, Comombs caught a security guard phone.
On cross-execution, Florez stated that Combes were cordial and did not see Combes with an aggressive movement towards Ventura. He also said that Combes did not appear drunk or high.

Daniel Philip back on stand
The second witness, Daniel Philip, has returned to the stand to continue his cross exam on Tuesday.
Comombs’s defense team asked him about the nature of his relationship with Ventura, even if he had sex without combs, and if he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
