The Stanley Cup final among Florida Panthers and Edmonton Olers gave another high scoring competition marked by a controversial call, which did not affect the final 5–4 results.
Panthers Forward Sam Bennett opened scoring with a record-setting power-play goal quickly, but it was another sequence that included Bennett that attracted attention.
Late in the first period, score 2-2 tied, Bennett Collision Edmonton was punished for goalkeeper Stuart Skinner and for goalkeeper intervention.
The cameras appeared to make Matias Ekhhum contact with Bennett and carry on the collision just before they were forced into the skin’s crease.

Skinner was briefly down before continuing in the net for oilers without leaving the game. However, Bennett was dispatched for two minutes under minor punishment.
On the upcoming power play, Connor McDwid established Lyon Drassital for one-time to exclude the edge of Edmonton by 3–2.
When asked during the interval about being surprised by the call, Bennett offered only one response.
“Very surprised,” Bennett said before getting out of the interview immediately.

Despite the penalty and quick goals, Florida pushed back with a goal by Dimitri Kulikov and Brad Marchand in the second period, both players scored in addition to 3:46.
Corey Perry left in regulation with 17.8 seconds after tying the game 4-4, the game went on double overtime. Once, at 8:05 of the other OT, Marchand sealed it with his 10th Career Stanley Cup final goal, a series with a win in the evening.
Game 3 is scheduled in Sunrise, FL on Monday, Panthers have taken away home-i-iME benefits from olers for their game 2 win.
