The panthers announced during the second period that the Reinhart, which was sent by the Sebstian AHO hit in the first period, had a low body injury and would not return to the game. He was surrounded by the bench before going to the dressing room.
Panthers coach Paul Maurice did not update any update after the game, saying that Reinhart would be investigated on Friday. He was expected to respond by Saturday.
Renhart plays in the top row with Alexander Barkov and scored 57 goals in the previous season. He is a finalist (with Barkov) for the Selke Trophy as the top protective after finishing with five short-hand goals.
The panthers had a 3–0 lead after a period but still had two periods to play. Other players, including the fourth-liner AJ Greer, rolled the top line in the rest of the game.
“That man, you can’t really replace. He does everything,” Barkov said about Rainhart. “Every man who played there was very good.”
