Omkont, Pa. – The US is open, thick rough. Especially in Omont, where the juicy mixture of Kentki Bluegrass, Rye and Poa Enua will be about 5 inches and replaced, continuously manicured so that it remains straight and swallows the golf balls.

Tiger Woods can have 16 major titles if not for their lost drives on their first hole of the 2003 Open Championship in Royal St. George. An army of Woods and Marshall spent 5 minutes in search of their nike ‘1’ golf ball that day, but to no avail. Woods had to return to T and eventually the winner will finish two shots behind Kartis.
Bodenhamemer believed that the USGA’s platoon of pupils would ensure that every ball is found this week.
“We have a lot of spotters,” Bodenhamemer said, “but there is no guarantee that we will not lose a golf ball or two. But we are going to do everything we can’t do so. But we feel good about it.”
Now, finding balls and playing them are different stories. Most balls are kept deep in rough, requiring hacking with a lobe veg, with some shots players will need to take their swings, while barely able to see the ball. Sometimes people become lucky, but it will not happen often.
The famous SWAT games of Okmont usually produce a best-ball score of 69 to 70. This is at least seven shots more in recent months as the club has prepared for this US Open.
“I don’t think people think how fat is thick,” said Colin Moricawa. “It’s not intelligent that it’s about to pass through the club. … You will have to stand to go on the ball in someone, and when you are standing, it delof into the face, so you are hitting it deeply into the earth. It’s very, very difficult.”
Mcilroy was added: “This week is the person with the most patience and best attitude who is the winning.”
Being lucky, either will not be hurt.
