Miranda Mavement UFC Atlanta Media Day
Miranda Mavric UFC talks to the media in front of Namazunas, her fight in Atlanta.
Atlanta – For someone who is engaged in a handful of battle with a friend, Miranda Maveral is very cold about it.
Mevarik met the State Farm Arena on ESPN 69 at UFC on Saturday at the women’s flyweight-co-intended program at Rose Namazunas. And when they step into the cage, there will be no secret.
Maveric, which is at number 11 in the official UFC rankings in 125 pounds, has a golden opportunity to add the biggest win of his career against a former UFC champion in number 7 Namajunas – which he has to consider just a friend. Maverick (15-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) and Namjunas (13-7 MMA, 11-6 UFC) have spent a lot of time together as training partners in Colorado. The Maverick welcomes the favorable elements of the familiar acquaintances in the fight.
“It seems surprising. It’s almost no pressure, you know, because everyday and I have trained together, we know what is going to try to do each other,” Maveric told reporters including MMA Zanki at UFC on ESPN 69 Media Day on Wednesday. “So it has been a difficult camp. We are pushing like someone else through this camp, all are ready for pressure that we know that we are going to throw our path every day. This is just a game of fighting and penance and mental cruelty, I think, at the end of the day.”
27-year-old Mavrich, ESPN 69 is on a four-fight winning line at UFC. While a win would certainly be very big, she will not declare herself worthy of a title shot. But do not make any mistake: Winning is the goal. If he is to hurt a friend, he has no reservation.
“I am excited,” said Mavric. “(Namjunas) has been the longest an inspiration, a friend I will call him, and now a rival. We will go back to become friends after this fight.”
