Big Pod Machine: Does Reds have any initial all-star candidates beyond Hunter Green?
Reds discussed the current status of Cincinnati Reds to reporter Gordon Vinemier and Sports Reporter Pat Brainon.
Fanduel Sports Network analyst Jeff Brentley exploded on a call during a call to umpires on Tuesday night Cincinnati RedsThe second game of the four-game series against ‘ Braves In Atlanta.
Braves Starter Cris Cris is facing the top of the third innings with a 3–2 count with Reds outfielder Blake Dunn, Dun Ball 4 or hit the pitch. Home-plate umpire Alex McKay ruled that Dunn bowed to the ball, but Ripley showed that Dun did not.
Dunn can be heard on broadcast, saying that the ball hit his batting glove. McKay called Dune out, and Reds Manager Terry Frankona came out to get an explanation.
The umpire met to discuss the call.
“I think at this point, if you are an umpire, you are just trying to get this right,” Brantley said. “I don’t think Terry does not like this result. … You can’t really challenge a foul-ball call at this point. The only thing you can ask that the ball hit him? It seemed that it seemed to be right on the top of the batting glove. … It’s not the end of the bat, it’s the batting.”
Reds challenged, but the decision of McKay’s dishonest tip was upheld. Cincinnati lost her challenge.
“This is a terrible, terrible decision. Terrible!” Brentley said. “There is no place that the ball can be a judge with the bat, where there was baseball. Only one place it could have been a hit, batting glove. The umpires are getting spoiled. They are not getting better.”
