NHL’s Stanley Cup playoffs are back and with this there is a major change in the overtime format.

If the score is tied after three periods, the teams move to the dressing room for 15 minutes, while the ice is resumed. The duration of overtime does not score the last 20 minutes or until one scores. It is five-five sports (preventing punishment). If no one scores in the first overtime, the process repeats and continues until someone scores. The teams change the side for each overtime period.
The NHL position chamber reviews all the goals to ensure that they are legally scored. In last year’s stars-Maswala series, the League retained a no-gol call on a clear score by Dallas’ Mason march as the referee intervened by Matt Duchene with the then-Kolorado goalkeeper Alexander Georgiev.
