Four star PG Jonathan Sanderson is committed to 2026 category of notre Dame MBB

John Sanderson, the on-court dividend of the Notre Dame, will not be seen until the end of this year to hiring as the new director of his basketball strength and conditioning.
But in less than a month, Irish has already benefited from hiring Sanderson on the recruitment mark. This is because his son, Jonathan SandersonOn Sunday, announced an oral commitment to the Notre Dame.
Small Sanderson, a four-star-point guard, who will play his senior season in a nearby la port (Ind.) La Lumier, has been on the radar of head coach Micah Shreyasberry for some time. Irish offered Jonathan Sanderson in September 2023, when he hosted an informal visit in the weekend of the Ohio State Notre Dame Football Program.

At the time, Jonathan Sanderson was earning a name for himself, when his father worked in Michigan, Khara (Mich.) At a high level as a sophomore. The family moved to Nashville last year when John Sanderson was hired in vendible. His son remained a star in the basketball court.
Jonathan Sanderson, a 6-Foot-2, 170-Pound Ball Handler, an average 24.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.3 assistance and 1.8 per game TSSAA Division II, Class AA State Semi-final with Ensworth School with Ensworth School. He was named 2024-25 Tennessi Getorade Player of the Year for boys basketball due to his performance. Sanderson played this spring on the new balance AAU circuit in the P32 League with Hoop City outside Tennessee.
After considering Michigan State, Illinois, Ohio State, Vanderbult and others, Sanderson committed to the Nonre Dame. The rivals ran her as a overall possibility of number 62 in 2026 category. On3 ranks him as number 12 point guard and total number 88.

Sanderson became the first oral commitment of Notre Dame in the 2026 category. Irish signed a 2025 square of four recruitments, which stood eighth in the country in the ON3 industry team rankings.
Notre Dame is also recruiting 7-0 center Soundgo IdolterWhich is part of the Sanderson family. John Sanderson and his wife, Jane, are the legal parents of Solongo, originally from Mongolia. He has played along with Jonathan Sanderson on Sayal, Ensworth and AAU circuits.
The basketball runs into the Sanderson family. John Sanderson played from the collegium in Ohio State (1997–99) and Ohio (2000-02). Jane played in Sanderson Mercer (1996-00). Daughter Jillian Sanderson played in the Versity team this season last season, while also in eighth grade.
