In Saturday’s finals, senior left-handed Catcher Kedens Spears broke a no-a-hitter with an out single in the seventh. Senior Rileh Lavarta chased with one of his own singles, sent a chopper to third place before flying in advance, but was eventually called out on the second basis after reaching the panthers before throwing.
The panthers of Chautham coach John Brentley were led by the 11-Strike to-Hitter of Sophomore Pitcher Skylar groom. The groom also sang with two-hals in the first innings. This was the first of the three first-inning hits to help Chautham to overcome the 3–0 decrease in the state semi-finals after taking an early lead of 6-3 winners-2-0 at the Karley location of Section VIII. Relie Barden’s two -run two -run single in the sixth gave the panthers a benefit of four runs.
Brentley said, “This may be the best performance that we have done at the right time throughout the year.”
