Kentaki men’s basketball coach Mark Pope reacted to the loss of march madness
The 2025 NCAA men’s basketball march in the Madness tournament after the loss of 78–65 to Tennessee, Kentki coach Mark Pope expressed pride for his players. “We will talk about these people after 10 years from now,” Pope.

Lexington – The most shocking loss Kentki basketballOn April 22, the roster came to pass, when Freshman Guard Travis Perry decided to put his name in the transfer portal, on which it was opened.
Perry, all -time leading scorer in the history of Kentki High School Basketball, was elected to stay in SEC, announcing her commitment to Ole Miss on 4 May.
In his first public comments on Perry’s departure, UK coach Mark Pope did not mask his feelings on Tuesday.
The Pope said, “When Travis left, I was destroyed, because I think he is such a terrible youth.” “I think she is really, really special person. I think he has got an old soul, and he is full of knowledge. That is just everything you want in a young man and a player.”
Perry’s transfer was the latest example of how quickly the conditions change in college athletics. After Tenasi’s team’s season-ending defeat NCAA TournamentOn March 28, Sweet 16, Perry, told The Currier Journal that he planned to return for his Sofomore season in Lexington “certainly”.
Instead, Wildcats will face him as a member of the rebels.
“He is a big -time basketball player. He is a great talent,” said Pope. “I think it was certainly a person to personally destructive, because I had a lot of fun in coaching her, and I think she is a great reverse.
“I think he was on his way to become a legend in Kentki. So that I was saddened. But he is going to find a way that works for him, and it’s going to be positive. But it was a difficult for us.”
