A few weeks after the draft, Mathews admitted that he could not take all the credit for this. And Trump did not write that letter, did he? Matthews discussed more on the podcast.
Clay Mathews helped his wife KC Nobel on writing a trump letter in the NFL draft
Matthews had some help and encouragement to pull it and Trump wrote a letter to make it reliable.
His wife, KC Nobel, a former HGTV star and designer, deserves a hat tip for assistance, he said.
The draft was asked to come on stage in the leadup, Mathews started doing his homework.
Matthews said he reviewed the video since last year when the draft was in Detroit. Lions icon Calvin Johnson and Barry Sanders, as well as active stars like Aidan Hachinson and Jreddo Came on stage to welcome fans in the draft.
“I thought it was great,” said Matthews. “A mixture of legends and current players, but they all just went there and shouted in the mic.”
He did not want to do so. How can he create a permanent impression in which people will be talking? Then his wheels started turning. But he first asked Nobel for his views.
“That is always the voice of the cause,” Mathews said. “He likes,” Yes, you need to do it. ” And both “Master of Photoshop” went to work with Nobel.
“I went online, discovered some letterhead with President Trump’s signature,” said Mathews. Nobel said he needed to make the signature “big” to look like Trump’s handwriting.
“She was behind it,” said Matthews. “She did a great job.”
Clay Mathews did not tell anyone about his NFL draft prank
Mathews has played in stadiums packed at the largest places from the La Memorial Collizium, playing for the Lambo Field in Packers and Lambo Fields in Super Bowl.
But the backstage on a draft outside a stadium, which he played for 10 years, was nervous of the first round of packers of 2009.
“I got this envelope,” he said.
Eventually, no one knew what he was going to say.
“I didn’t tell anyone,” Matthews said. “Today’s political atmosphere you refer to a political affiliation, left, right, it’s not just going well with NFL. … I am thinking that this is a live event that they can bite me.”
But he did not stagger.
He was a backstage with former Packers Stars Mason Crossbie, Jordan Nelson, Randel Cob, Ahman Green and James Jones, who were including them on stage, plus rapper and packers celebrity fan Lil Wayne.
“He asked,” Hey, is there someone who wants to go there and says some things? ” Matthews said. “Mason and Jordy are like, ‘I am not doing this.”
Matthews, however, was his plan.
“I like,” I will do it, I will go to them, “Matthews said. “The opportunity was just opened in a way.”
Mathews gave a line for perfection. People were flexing the crowd on his behalf in the form of green and mathugs.
Matthews said, “The boy behind me, he enjoyed it, he had no idea, so he was removed equally.” “At any time you can take a chance to keep the bear down which you will take it.”
Matthews were a little worried, however, he made his way backwards. What were NFL Commissioner Roger Goodale going to say? Do he have to talk?
He had nothing to worry about. Took good vibes.
“They were super cool backstages,” said Mathews. “I apologized to half-hearted-half-mother-in-law.” Hey, forgive me. I knew that you are not going to approve it. ” Goodll had no issue with it and they all took a picture together.

The crowd and backstage were electric. Online it was a little mixed, but when politics is included, it was to be expected.
But he is happy overall.
“Oh, this is an excavation in the bear, but then it becomes political,” Matthews said. “It didn’t work with anyone else. Jokes would not have worked (without bear and Trump). That’s why it did it.”
The Trump administration heard about mischief. Mathews said that the next night he received a text message from Washington, DC, phone number and someone who said that he works with Trump.
Matthews said, “You gave your speech with the same fierce approach, which you took in the game.”
Matthews was not sure, however, if he was mischief this time. So, he allowed it to sit for the night.
But it was valid. Packers Public Relations Team confirmed that it was real.
“I wrote something good for (Trump) and said, ‘Hey, stay in contact,” Mathews said.
Matthews also told the story of the then President Barack Obama to meet and share a handshake with him when Packers won the Super Bowl after the 2010 season.
