Minneapolis – for a second straight spring, Minnewaska Boys Tennis team has a difficult draw in the state in twin cities.
Mininavska, one of the three unseed teams, exits the tournament with a match against top seed St. Paul Academy at 8 am on Tuesday morning at the Class A State Quarter Final at the Reid-Seette Family Tennis Center.
The state is the top rank A team in the state by the winner of the last three class A State Tournament, Spartons, Minnesota Tennis Coach Association. In the rankings, Mininavaska ended number 5 for Class A.
“I just saw the bracket and it’s not the greatest,” said the long -time head coach Tara Reichman of Mininavska. “We have got the first round of St. Paul Academy for the second consecutive year, which is disappointing.”
It is third in the history of Minnewaska’s state attendance program and its third in the last four years is with visits to 2022, 2024 and 2025.

And after losing a senior to graduate, the speed from last year’s state travel has fuel the youth, who have three uppercases in the lineup.
“We had a real successful weather,” said Reachman. “Our team, overall, is the best that I have ever seen with a mixture of old and young children.”
According to tennis reporting, Mininavaska is 18–6 and St. Paul Academy is 15–9.
Both teams have quality loss and victory.
Minnewaska’s disadvantage class AA programs are Alexandria, Bemidji, Hachinson and St. Cloud as well as Class A Programs Foli, another unseeded team in Class A Bracket, and in the New London-Spire.

Benson, against Leachfield, has a concrete win, which was ranked 7th in Class A, NLS and Sartel, an unpalan team in Class AA Bracket.
The disadvantage of the St. Paul Academy is all class AA programs, including two Blacks and Vazetas and one -Egan, Eden Prey, Edina, Orono and Roochetter Mayo. Wayzata is number 1, Edina is number 2, Rochetter Mayo is number 3 and is unpounted in Egan and Eden Preary Class AA brackets.
There are significant win brakes on the schedule of St. Paul Academy, number 5 Seed in Class A Bracket, Eden Prerey, Elk River, Class AA Bracket No. 5 Seed in Class AA Bracket, Maunds View, Class AA number 4 Seed in Class AA, and Roochetter Lurdes, No. 3 CD A in Class A.
“The biggest reason they are hard because they play throughout the year,” Richman said about Spartons. “Many of those children, they are sports specialists in those private schools and they are basically tennis players.”
Reachman has gone with a variety of lineups throughout the season and has not decided in which lineup he will play in Tuesday’s quarterfinal match, but he will have to submit three.

Singles players were unprecedented seasons for Drew Blake and Carter Lakelair.
Blic, a junior that usually slots in number 2 singles, has a 29–1 record. Lakelair, a sophomore that usually plays number 3 single, is 28–2 records.
Only two other people have at least 20 wins for Mininavaska and that is Senior Tenzin Dahl and Sofomore Marshal Crowth. Both have 20–10 records.
Dahl, who usually competes in the number 1 singles, has played all his doubles matches with anger, which almost specifically slips in the number 1 doubles.
Dahl and Copop Class A State Doubles competes in the tournament that begins at the Reid-Sitet Family Tennis Center at 10 am on Thursday. Both have played the role of Foli’s Aaron Vandewest and Jack Ertance.
“They are just happy to rule it,” Richman said.
