For half a century, the songs of the middle boys like “Fun, Fun, Fun” have promised united summer of fun in the sun – the founder of life was really led for many years like the beach boy Bryan Wilson, as Anthony Mason has now told us in our Sunday profile:

Wilson, who created The Sun and Surf Sound, is still a milestone heat to the American Summer. On the tour again, he has just released his 11th single album, “No Pier Pressure”, and is the theme of a new film about his life, “Love and Merce.”

Mason asked, “How did you like when you saw the film?”
“I was very happy to see good parts,” Wilson said. “But the period of darkness, eg, was very thick to see.”

Wilson was just 20 years old when The Beach Boys signed with capital records and created his first album in La Studio.
Mason asked, “Do you remember recording in this room?”

“Your father fought you about it, and the band fought you about it,” Mason said.

The film has other focus in the 1980s, and Dr. Wilson’s distressed relationship with Eugene Landy, a psychologist accused him of making him a virtual prisoner.
It took almost two decades to make the film. And when Brian’s wife, Melinda first saw it, she said, “I got up and I bolt. I went around the city for two hours, and it was difficult. It was difficult to see.”

“What were you doing when you were driving around the city?” Mason asked.

“And how did you make peace with it?”
“It was the truth,” he said. “So it is how I made peace with it. When you tell the truth, everything works.”
The film explains how Melinda (starring Elizabeth Banks) first met the distressed musician in 1986.
“I went to a cadilac dealership to buy a car,” remembered Wilson. “And she was working there, and when I saw her I liked it for the first time when I saw her. And she sold me a car!”
Wilson gave a card to Melinda which wrote, “Fearful, scared, alone.”
“Did you immediately saw that card?” Mason asked.
“Oh yes, I was just like, What is he trying to tell me? I knew that I like him. I knew that I like him very much. And then when he left the card, I loved what is happening here? ,
Brian then Dr. Landy (in the film was under 24-hour care of Landy (Paul Giamatti), which was controlling every aspect of his life, even co-written songs, co-building their records, and screening that could see him.
Mason asked Wilson, “What do you think when you think about that period of your life?”
“Unhappy,” he said. “Torture is being done. All those stuff.”
“Is it something that you don’t try to think about?”
“Yes, yes.”
Nearly six months in his relationship, Melinda decided that she had to act: “I called the Attorney General and said that nothing could be done until her family joins.

“This is a very difficult situation,” said Mason.
“It was as if I said to my mother: ‘You know, I think a child is being abused.” And I did not find anyone who wanted to help.
Landy eventually cut Melinda from Brian.
Wilson said, “I looked at him for three years. And then Dr. Landy broke the relationship.”
And how did he answer this? “Negative,” he said. “I said, ‘Tat is not fair, gene. It is not appropriate.”
Melinda recalled Bryan and said, “I want to exclude this hell.” And he, he told Mason, gave him all the impatts he needed.

Landy’s grip on Wilson finally broke in 1991, when the family came to know that Bryan’s wish was revised – Landy with Landi.
He eventually won the order of a court with further contact with his patient to the doctor. Brian Wilson’s nine -year order was over.
Brian and Melinda were married in 1995. Their five adopted children are together.

Mason asked, “How important was Melinda in you?”
Wilson said, “Okay, he put me out of it.” “She dropped me out of the program. She was my hero.”
“He is really strong – people don’t get about him,” Melinda said. “They think he is inactive and simply sits around. But he is strong.”
“Was there a moment when you knew you really won?”
“When we got married, I won,” he laughed.
