Mitchell – Michelle High School Girls Golf Team did not take overnight overnight for a major event in the state.
Instead, this is the result of strong dedication, as well as building the foundation of those who have donated kernel colors in the past.
Since 2021, Michelle Class AA State Girls has ended either as a team in the Golf Tournament, either first or second place, taking the state championship home in 2023. The way, the first Mitchell Girls in the history of the program in the program in 2024, Karnell Golfer Alison Meerink was the individual state champion.
Even above success, every time every time in competitions, seeing the determination of the players on the syllabus, the future golfars are guessing what they can achieve by the time of joining the roster.
“Success achieves success,” MHS head coach Brian Eliason said. “Little girls are seeing that you can get success from younger old Michels. There is some good golf going on … If you see it, you can do it, and I think it’s happening.”
Beyond the championship, Michelle Golfers has submitted 17 state medals as well as six all-to-tournament changes to be the top-25 in the Class AA tournament. Karnell has also won three of the last five Eastern South Dakota Conference Team Championships.

In the construction of a competitive juggling that threatens the top of the leaderboard in any tournament, Michelle Golfars knows about the value that the game brings to their lives, even if it is not correlated to improve scores or positions in 18-hal rounds.
Sophomore Mia Larsen said, “Golf definitely teaches me the most about mental aspect and it affects your game more than anything.” “It has been given me some of the best friendship that I ever get and I have helped to become a better person, no matter what.”
Junior Maddy Children said, “You can not only do not only for the team, but also yourself.” “It is really fun to play and live with my colleagues, who are my best friends.”
It is also proud to promote a competitive spirit, one has supported each other as well as made everyone with his best, started with the team from the time of Karnell fitciri mock mock and other successful leaders such as Lara made through Vidastrom, Jayali Reverse and Meerink, who prepared it for Michel.
“They certainly support each other, but they also want to defeat each other,” Eliason said. “It is good to have a core group as we have competitive. They want to defeat each other’s tail every day, but in the end, they are good friends. It all matters.”
It will also be a main group that is returning to kernel in the next season, carrying children forward in their senior year before competing at the collegium at Augusta University in 2027. Larsen and Anna Eliason will return for their junior season, Londin Hazek entered their Sophomore campaign.

While the teams remember the departure seniors, as well as focus on the opportunities left throughout the year, Michelle girls are optimistic about their future with golf program, who want to respect the legacy of those who come before the current group, remembering every moment as a piece to build future kernels.
“I am looking at people like Lara, Jayali and Elisen,” said Childs. “Being one of the role models, the young children who are seeing so far are really rewarded. We have helped to create this program and hope it can continue.”
