Alex Shekal: ‘It is absolutely crazy to see the Olympic rings next to my name.’
17 -year -old Alex Shekal became the first Carmel Girls swimmer to form the American Olympic team.

In the last one year, Alex Shekal’s leading run has achieved the distinction of him being nominated. Maxpraps 2024-25 Women’s Athlete of the Year,
The 18 -year -old Shekal graduated from Carmel High School in May and will swim to Indiana University in the 2026 spring. Prior to its senior year in Carmel, Shakel not only qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics, but also won gold and silver medals in the early stages of the two teams USA relay.
By doing this, the Shekal became the second Indiana girl to win a medal at the Olympics while living in high school.
While living in Carmel, Shekal helped Greyhounds win the 39th-state state title in girls swimming. In this last season, he won four state titles, which brought his career to a total of 15.
Other athletes to win the Maxpresps Award include the number 1 total of 2025 WNBA draft picge beuckers and six -time Olympic medalist Missy Franklin.
