Chris Rumph II joined as a free agent in New Orleans Saints as this offsen. He will re -connect with the Brandon Steel, who coached him for his first three NFL season with Chargers and is a new defensive coordinator for New Orleans.
The fourth round pick from the Duke in the 2021 NFL draft by the Chargers, in its first three years, there were only 3 sacks as a reserve in their first three years, 9 cb hit and 4 tackle for loss of 4 tackle. He missed the 2024 season with Akilis injury.
Rumph is the latest for the monk wearing number 98. With 98 days up to the 2025-26 season opener for New Orleans, there is a look at other notable saints players who have worn 98 during the regular session in the history of franchisees.

The first to wear 98 in the history of the franchise, Lewis made a interception to his best season with 6.5 sacks in 1983 and a convert to a touchdown. Hodge, Hannah, and Warner each played less than a season with New Orleans, combining only nine matches with the team.
The Whitehead was a low contributor to an excellent defensive line in the early 2000s. His eight -year yogas included 24.5 sacks and 40 tackles for losses. He remains the longest long -run player wearing 98 for New Orleans.
Most see Ellis as one of the large draft busts in saints history. Outside the USC, the seventh overall option in the 2008 NFL draft, he was with the team for five years, then completely out of NFL. In that five years interval, Alice had a combined 12.5 sacks, 30 cb hit and 18 stop losses.

Haralson was an otherwise a decent player for the terrible New Orleans Defense. His last two years of his eight -year career were with saints. Vyan and Mohammed collectively played less than a year with the monk, combining for only 13 games.
The 12th overall choice in the 2016 NFL draft out of Louisville, Rankins did a very good tenure of five years in New Orleans. At that time, he had a joint 19.5 sacks, 73 QB hits and 47 tackles for disadvantages.

Turner connects Ellis in the sanyasi list of historical draft bust. The 28th overall option in the 2021 NFL draft out of Houston, he had a small impact with saints in four years before signing with this offense with Dallas. Of one potential 68 games with New Orleans, Turner played in only 31 competitions and had only 5 sacks, 11 QB hits and 11 tackles for the negative yard.
With any fate, Chris Rumph II will have an effect that whitehead and rankins did for the team instead of Turner and Ellis.
