The pilots completed a season 59–0 with a win of 13–7 at the Harris Field in Leviston, Idaho at NAIA National Championship Game on 30 May. LSU Shrewport ended the season with a record of 59–0 to win the first national title in the history of the school.
Lsus is the first NAA baseball team to complete an unbeaten season. Pilots’ 59-Game Jeet Streak topped the baseball records of the previous college of 57 Strait Jeet won by Junior College Howard College of Texas, which ended its 2009 season with 63–1 records and won the national title.
Despite the correct record, baseball immortality and championship route was not always a smooth. The pilots faced 4–0 and 7-5 deficiency in the championship game. However, in the sixth innings by Jackson Siring, back-to-back home run and Ian Montz helped him cross the four-run season-high deficit.
LSUS set a college baseball record to win the street with its 58th straight victory a day earlier with a 14–4 win over Hope International (California). LSU Shrewport scored 30–0 at the Red River Athletic Conference Games and won 10 runs or more than 28 games.
In his sixth year as a coach, Brad Nefendorf has posted a record of 270-49 with pilots.
“This is the most incredible thing that we can ever see in college baseball,” Neffndorf told SBC Advocate“They are worth appreciating like not tomorrow. They have not done anything, but have continued to put their foot on the gas pedal.”
