How does the Grand Slam track work?
Athletes are divided into six event groups: short sprints (100 m and 200 m racing), small obstacles (100 meters and 100 m or 110 m or 100 m), long sprint (200 m/400 m), long barriers (400 m/400 m), short distance (800 m/1500 meters) and long distance (3000 meters).
There are 24 men’s “racers” and 24 female “racers”, who signed up for all four Grand Slam – four for each event group. For each individual slam, the “Challengers” of men and women fill the rest of the areas for every eight-athlete event group. The racers who have to withdraw from meat are replaced by new racers or challengers.
Athletes earn marks based on results, which set champions for each event group for each slam.
A overall male season champion and a composite female season champion will be crowned at the end of the season.
