Manager: We want to win the best way we can possibly do

Celtic is just one point away from sealing its fourth serial SPFL title and gives them an opportunity to shut down the fight for the award tomorrow (Saturday). Dundi United in Tanadis.

For a draw or a win Brendon Rodgers’ The hops at the lunchtime kick-off on Tayseide will push the button on another title winning festival in the last whistle sound.

This achievement will pick up the curtain for a supporter’s carnival in Tanadis and wherever Celtic fans are assembled in front of the TV screen worldwide.

However, despite scoring 10 goals in his previous two outings, Celts know that there will be a hard 90 minute of football before any possible celebration against Jim Goodwin’s side, a roded United team who have their own aspirations for this final post-skill run-in, and Celts are preparing for that danger this week.

The Celtic Manager said: “This is another game for us, so I think most concentration has been at the performance level.

“We take the game to a level of performance that is actually high standard in the last two, and we want to maintain it, but we know that it will be difficult.

“The gym had a great season, a man who was of some challenges in some other jobs, but when Dundi was going to United and was promoted and then kept in the top six in this season, I think he has done so, so well.

“They are a team that does not give many opportunities, we saw that when we were there for the last time, it was 0-0,

‘But we know where we are, we know what we need to do, and we know that we want to leave Tanadis as the champion.’

“And, for this we need to perform.

“We like it at home, it was our complaint a few weeks ago, but now it is behind us.

“I think at any time you win the league, of course it is special and you will like to do it if you can ideally do in front of your own supporters, but, whenever you win it, you win it.

“So we do not want to delay it at any time, as we have, but, we have to perform for it.”

The title is rolling for Celtic, which thanks to hard work every day of each successful campaign, and makes each title win better than the final.

Irishman said: “I think it retains hunger. I think this season has been very satisfactory for me in many ways and I have preferred to develop us as a team, developed as a team from the beginning of the season.

“I have enjoyed seeing the bounce from the failures that we have, and I have enjoyed seeing that players now get very close to all the sacrifices that they make, because they are an incredible group of professional players who come to train and work every day.

“They don’t look for any easy days, they do not look for any easy game – sometimes we are not in our best for whatever reason, but it is definitely not through group honesty.

“So we are now at that point of the season, we are very close, five games to go, a cup final to look forward and we really want to strengthen the season.

“And I have always felt my first time from here, if you are going to win, try to win the best way you can do, and that is what we want to do in this season.”
