Nickel of Malcolm Hzog gives an opportunity to play close to the ball

John Butler’s vision for his Nebraska defense is coming together in this spring, and it includes a plan to have more than one unit with more personnel packages than the previous season.
Protecting Nebraska is not more day to say a standard 3-3-5. Instead, Butler has planned to create a defense that uses depth and has the ability to create groups of various personnel that matches the best from the crime that is going against it.
Butler said during a press conference on Thursday, “We probably have a very two-deep, in the context of those who are in the mixture in different positions.” “And when we are saying many, we are many scheme-wise, but we want us to be in the form of many personnel groups, because we can use our personnel, some individual players do some things.”
While many with the ability to deploy packages of various and unique personnel include all three levels of defense, it is back end – butler’s characteristic after spending 10 season coaching DBS in NFL – where it is the most notable with who is on the field in some situations.
Butler said, “Some of them have also played some other positions, which helps us, perhaps allows us to play, sometimes, three corners on the field, or obviously three true safari.” “So it allows us to keep separate pieces for the puzzle together. But I would say that the unit, collectively, not only its number, but also how they have performed, there is an area that I think I should have a strength for us.”
11 Through spring practices, Butler said that what he has been seen from a man coverage is liked, and a certain group of players has helped strengthen that aspect of defense.
Butler said, “I think we have allowed us to do so.”
Nebraska’s DB Room added Idaho Transfer Andrew Marshal to Georgia Safety Justin Rate and Southern Illinois transfer Jamir Con.
With the spring transfer window, now open by April 25, there will be a possibility of movement on Nebraska’s roster. And with a loaded DB room, it will not be surprising if there are departure.
Head coach Matt Rule said on Saturday, “We can start six different people in the corner right now. We can start four or five different people in safari.” “So, one of them can say, well, if I am not a starter, I am going to the portal. So it can change in the next week, but for most parts, great players love the competition.”

A DB that will be part of plans for decline is Malcolm Hzog.
Hzog is an experienced player played in 36 career games with 30 starts. A solid tacker for most parts, he 107 career stops – of which 71 are solos – and seven are interception, four of which came in the previous season.
Butler is most interested in keeping the players in positions to succeed. This has changed a position for Hzog. After spending the previous season as an outer corner and free security, the hertzog has been taken to nickelback, where he can play closer to the line of the scribe instead of being asked to cover the larger receiver under the ground in one situation.
Nickel’s move will not be a major change for Hzog. In the plan of former DC Tony White, field safety has several nickel responsibilities in five-DB setup.
“I think of him as a true nickel that can come down and play the man on two,” Rule said about Hurtzog in this spring. “And when he is out of there, you don’t have to play, oh, let’s put a dime package. You can play with him at any point.”
Now that he would be playing close to the ball and watching more snap in the tackle box or as an overhang defender, the 5 -Foot -9 Hzog has been bulk. He is currently playing in 184 pounds- he was in 180 in the previous season- with the target of living in 185–187-pound range for a fall.
“This year I am going to be more in run fit, and in the RPO (run-pass option) window and in the same way,” said Hurtjog. “I think it’s going to grow up for me, tackle a couple and put on that tape, and still become a cover person. It’s like a corner place, things like the same technique, the same things. So I think I think I am in a good place.”
Hzog said that Nebraska’s DBS Buffalo is watching the previous rescue film of Buffalo Bills as Butler was raised to DC. DBS coach in Buffalo, Butler helped develop Taran Johnson of 5–11, 192 pounds in one of the top nickel/slot corners at NFL.
“There is a nickel focus this year, being down in the box and such things,” Hzog said about Butler’s rescue. “Last year, I was never in the box, so protect people in different positions compared to last year, and I like it.”
A large part of the spring ball is about the move around the rescue to move and see what is stuck to see and see. Hzog said that Deshon Singleton, who played as border security last year, is taking practice representatives in the Rover position and looks good to do it.
